as i glance at the calender i see March 1st… a late date for a first race. oh well.  it was really fun though, and good to get it out of the way.  the race was safe and rather uneventful until sundays road race.  first was when race leader John Murphy,  perhaps after ToC, forgot local races have a yellow line rule.  with impressive and blatant disregard for said rule, he was ejected from the event half way through the day.  in all fairness he just forgot.  then came the ever present dangers of the feed zone.  this one converged like the “perfect storm”.  first was a civilian driver stopped on course in the feed zone.  not moving, but his car was no more then a foot off the centerline.  i caught me by surprise as i went by and i had the flash thought “OH thats not good”.  a second or two later that sound of metal on metal.  come to find out… a feeder TOSSED a mussette bag into the field, causing the crash, who’s aftermath hit the car. a few guy were banged up pretty good, but nothing real serious (i think)

so heres to all the Guys and Gals who have suffered the inevitable fate for all the early season nervous races.  get well soon
